In 1974 The Thailand PGA started the Local Tour in Thailand under the name Thailand Golf Circuit. The total prize money for the whole year was 300,000 Thai/Baht (approximately 15,000 USD at that time)
In 1989 Golfs Teacher Association changed name to Professional Golfers Association of Thailand
27 June 1990 Professional Golfers Association of Thailand changed named to Professional Golfers Association
In 1991 Suthep Meesawat become the first Thai Player to win Thailand Open at the Army Golf Club, Bangkok
In 2001 Thongchai Jaidee become the first Thai player to win the Asian Tour Order of Merrit.
14 February 2003 Professinal Golfers Association changed name to Professional Golf Association of Thailand.
In 2010, the Thailand PGA consists of 1,000 professional members with the strong support from The Sports Authority of Thailand. The Thailand PGA Tour now has a minimum of 12 events per year with prize money of 1,500,000 Thai/Baht (approximately US$50,000 per tournament) and 2 events on the international stage (Asian Tour)
